Jamison Land

Jamison Land was born Louisville, KY January 6th, 1979. He began playing  guitar at the age of 15, picking up the instrument while spending his free time after school at the legendary Guitar Emporium of Louisville, where his father, Greg Land was the manager. He graduated from Atherton, High School in 1997, followed by a semester at Jefferson Community College.

Jamison began playing guitar for Louisville, KY based band The Burial starting in 2004 and went on to release their first and only album Songs to Die For in 2005 produced by Jeremy Smith, sound engineer for GWAR.

Dave Brockie and Jamison became friends during this period and he would move to Richmond VA for a short period in 2008-2009, living as roommates with Brockie and Micheal Derks. His father suddenly passed away in January of 2009 and Jamison moved back home to Louisville to settle his father’s estate.

In 2011, GWAR had an opening for a new bassist position and Brockie asked Jamison If he would like to fill the spot. Jamison did a quick audition for the GWAR members in late summer and was in the band playing his first show, the second annual GWAR-B-Q in September of that year, followed by a fall tour where GWAR would appear on the Jimmy Fallon show.

Jamison would appear on his first GWAR recording “Isn’t This Disgusting”, a cover of the  Dayglow Abortions song released in 2012, but recorded and produced the previous year by Cory Smoot. Following the death of GWAR’s lead guitarist, Cory Smoot, GWAR would collaborate with past members for the “Battle Maximus” album which would be Jamison’s first full length album with shared songwriting by him.

In 2014, after a successful tour of the Battle Maximus  album with stints in Australia on the SoundWave festival tour and shows in Osaka and Tokyo Japan, the band went back home to Richmond VA to take a rest and begin preparations for the upcoming GwarBQ. In late March Jamison had spent a weekend in Washington DC attending a vape convention with the Mount Baker Vapor where they would release the new Gwar Fluids vape liquid. Upon returning home that Sunday, Jamison discovered his friend, roomate and band mate Dave Brockie had passed away in their shared home. Within a month of this devastating discovery Jamison also learned that he had testicular cancer.  With  the death of band leader, Dave Brooke and after cancer surgery and chemotherapy Jamison and the band soldiered on to put on their 5th annual GwarBQ, which was a beautiful tribute to their fallen comrade.

Jamison would go on to tour from 2014 to 2018 and wrote and perform on one more album, The Blood of Gods . He would then leave the band in early 2019 returning to his hometown of Louisville KY to focus on a tour bus and truck driving career. In 2022 Jamison would join Louisville crossover thrash band  Belushi Speed Ball with his first guest appearance on their album What Us, Worry?  On the song “Tattletale Strangler”. He would follow up with writing and recording their next two albums Stelkira and Toxic Waste Was Everywhere in the 80’s. Jamison and Belushi Speed Ball would tour with X-Cops” (GWAR’s side project) and U.S, Bastards” in early 2025. He would join  Belushi Speed Ball in performances at Milwaukee Metal Fest in 2024 and 2026, The Gathering of the Juggalos in 2023 and 2026 and in Trutnov Czechia at Obscene Extreme festival in 2024. Currently the band has an upcoming show makeup show in Richmond VA with X-Cops and U.S. Bastards, Friday August 14th, 2026.
